An HP-97 opened.

The HP-97 can be opened by removing 6 screws on the bottom of the housing. The bottom part can now be lifted. When the bottom is removed the main print becomes visible. The printer unit is located on the left side. The small PCB below the printer contains the printer driver electronics.

The card reader module

To adjust the contacts of the card reader the adjustment screws are accessable through holes in the PCB.

 

The remaining part inside the housing is shown in the next picture.

This picture shows the backside of the keyboard PCB and the driver logic for the display module.
